Awhile back I experienced a situation, which as a business person made me smile.
I went into a book store one day and there was a young lady there who was looking at a set of books by a particular author.
I watched her for a bit as she looked through the books on the shelf. She then picked one out and displayed it the best she could, stood back and took a photo of it.
This peeked my interest and I asked her why she was taking a photo of a book. She politely replied "It is for an entry to win free books. We are supposed to go to a book store, take a photo of a book by this author and submit it to be entered in the contest."
She was all smiles and was really excited about the possibility of winning. I asked her if the author was any good.
With a puzzled look, the girl replied "I don't know, I've never actually read any of her books. I just love books so when I
found this on line I wanted to enter it."
As I watched her she then began to read the back of a few of the books. After a short time she proceeded to take one of them to the counter and purchase it.
All I could think of was "WOW what an ingenious marketing idea!"
You run a contest which of course is geared towards people who like to read.
You get them to go out to take this photo, which in turn introduces them to you and your books.
Being readers, they will of course read what your books are all about and then chances are they will buy one!
What an incredibly subtle way to make a sale.
Again it all comes down to the fact people have to see you, to know you are out there!!!
Now the trick here, is to look at this situation and see how YOU could possibly mimic it, in a way to be able to promote your service or product to a specific group of people.
Think about this for awhile. You will need to get into the minds of your potential customer or clients. Then come up with ideas that you think would be a good way to get them to notice you and your business. Feel free to share your ideas in here and bounce them off of the other members to get their responses as to if they would respond to an offer you're considering presenting.
If you have already came up with unique ideas in the past that proved to be successful we would love to hear about them!
Good luck and keep being creative!
